Tulane Athletics to Welcome 2019 Hall of Fame Class on Oct. 11

– Tulane University Athletics announced today that it will hold its annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, Oct. 11 inside the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
 
The event will start with a cocktail hour, opening at 5 p.m. with the program beginning at 6 p.m. Fans interested in attending this year's event can purchase tickets for $20. Fans can purhcase tickets for the event by clicking here. 
 
The cost of admission will provide those in attendance with a memorable experience among some of Tulane's All-Time greats.
 
The event also will feature appearances from current Green Wave coaches and Hall of Famers. In addition, those in attendance will be treated to heavy hor d'oeuvres, a dessert bar and a cash bar.  
"Voice of the Green Wave" Andrew Allegretta will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for this year's event.
 
The five individuals that will be inducted into the 2019 class include: The baseball program's all-time leading save artist Daniel Latham (2004-07); two-time all-American Maribel Lopez Porras from women's golf (2009-13); all-American Ed Mikkelsen from the football team (1971-74); two-time all-conference honoree Gwen Slaughter from women's basketball (1999-2003); and longtime Tulane team physician Greg Stewart, who has been recognized nationally for his work in sports medicine (1987-present).
 
Entering the Hall of Fame as a team will be the Green Wave's 1996-97 women's basketball squad that finished the year with a school-record 27 wins and collected the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory.
 
The Billy Slatten Award, given annually to someone who has given extraordinary service, commitment and support to Tulane University and its student-athletes, will be presented to legendary States-Item and Times-Picayune columnist Angus Lind. This award was established in 2004 in honor of William A. "Billy" Slatten, a longtime supporter of Tulane Athletics, a member of the Tulane Board of Trustees and the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee.
